One Rec is a free screen recorder for Linux with the editor built in, so zooms and captions don't need a trip through Kdenlive.
It ships for x64 as an AppImage, a .deb or an .rpm. Recording works on X11 sessions through ffmpeg, at your display's native resolution and 30 fps. Wayland isn't supported yet, so log in to an X11 session to record.
In the editor, zooms are placed on your clicks and typing, Whisper writes captions on your machine, and Smart Trim suggests cuts for pauses and filler words. Add annotations or masks, then export MP4, ProRes MOV or GIF.

Which Linux distros does One Rec support?
One Rec ships as an x64 AppImage, a .deb for Debian, Ubuntu and their derivatives, and an .rpm for Fedora, openSUSE and similar distros. There is no ARM build.
Does One Rec work on Wayland?
Not yet. Recording works on X11 only, so log in to an X11 session if your desktop offers one.
Are the Linux builds signed?
No. The Linux packages aren't code-signed, so only download them from the official One Rec download page.
Is there a screen recorder for Linux with captions?
Yes. One Rec generates captions with Whisper on your machine, in 17 languages plus auto-detect, and burns them into the export.
