Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using One Rec ("the Software"), or by accessing the website at onerec.app ("the Website"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Software or Website.

One Rec is proprietary software developed by Damien Schneider. These terms govern your use of the Software, Website, and related services.

One Rec is licensed, not sold. Subject to these terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software for lawful personal, educational, and commercial use.

You may not reverse engineer, redistribute, sublicense, or resell the Software except where required by applicable law.

The license is granted per-user. Each user must have their own account for paid features.

To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Providing accurate and current account information
• Notifying us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that have been inactive for an extended period, with reasonable notice where possible.

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings page. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

One Rec offers free and paid subscription plans (Creator and Pro). Paid plans are billed through Stripe.

• Billing — subscriptions are billed monthly or yearly, depending on your selection. Charges are processed at the start of each billing period.
• Automatic renewal — subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Cancellation — you can cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal (accessible from your account page). You will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period.
• Downgrades — upon cancellation or downgrade, your plan reverts to the free tier at the end of the billing period. Export quality and feature access will be adjusted accordingly.
• Price changes — we may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes take effect at the start of your next billing period.

Refund policy: We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase if you have not substantially used the paid features. Contact us through the support page to request a refund.

You may use One Rec for any lawful purpose. You agree not to:

• Use One Rec to record content without the consent of parties where required by law
• Distribute recordings that violate intellectual property or privacy rights of others
• Use the sharing feature to distribute illegal, harmful, or abusive content
• Misrepresent One Rec as your own product
• Attempt to reverse-engineer proprietary components
• Circumvent subscription restrictions, plan limits, or access controls
• Use automated tools to abuse the service or its infrastructure
• Share account credentials with others to circumvent per-user licensing

All recordings, exports, and edits you create with One Rec belong entirely to you. We claim no ownership or rights over your content.

Local content: One Rec processes recordings locally on your device. We never access, view, copy, or store your local content.

Shared content: When you choose to share a video using our sharing feature, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, and serve that content for the purpose of making it accessible to your intended audience. This license terminates when you delete the shared video.

You are solely responsible for the content you create and share. You represent that you have the right to share any content you upload.

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content shared through One Rec infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown request to us through the support page with:

• Identification of the copyrighted work
• Identification of the infringing material (including the shared video URL)
• Your contact information
• A statement of good faith belief that the use is unauthorized
• A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate

We will review valid requests and remove infringing content promptly.

One Rec is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.

We do not guarantee that: - The Software will be error-free or uninterrupted - Defects will be corrected in a specific timeframe - The Software will meet your specific requirements - Recordings will be free from quality issues - Shared videos will be available with 100% uptime

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Damien Schneider and One Rec shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Software or services.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Software shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.

This includes, without limitation: - Loss of data or recordings - Business interruption - Loss of profits or revenue - Damages from service interruptions

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Damien Schneider and One Rec from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Software, your content, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Software or services if you violate these terms. Where possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure the violation.

Upon termination: - Your license to use the Software is revoked - Your shared videos may be deleted - You remain liable for any outstanding payment obligations - Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification) will survive

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of France, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of France.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice.

Continued use of One Rec after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the Software and cancel any active subscription.
