Feature · Local & Private
Your recordings stay on your computer.
A private screen recorder: recording, editing, captions and export run locally. Nothing is uploaded until you create a share link.

What you get
What it does for you.
- 01
Local by default
Recordings and projects save to your disk. They only leave your computer when you share them or use a cloud feature.
- 02
Captions on your computer
Whisper runs locally. After a one-time model download, captioning works offline and your audio isn't uploaded.
- 03
Privacy scan
A local scan finds API keys, passwords and emails on screen and suggests masks before you share.
How it works
From take to finished video.

- 02
Record and edit locally
Recording, zooms, captions and the privacy scan all run on your machine.
- 03
Export or share
Export to a file, or sign in to create a share link with an expiry, a password and download controls.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
Does One Rec send any data to servers?
Your recordings stay on your computer until you share them. The app sends anonymous usage analytics and crash reports, and share links, live streaming and cloud AI use One Rec's servers.
Does AI captioning require internet?
Only to download the Whisper model the first time, from about 140 MB to 1.1 GB depending on the model. After that, captioning works offline.
Is there an account or sign-up?
Not to record, edit or export locally on the Free plan. You need an account for share links, live streaming, cloud AI and paid plans.
Try it on your next take.
