How accurate are the captions?
Whisper handles clear speech well in the supported languages. Accurate gives the best results and Fast is the quickest. You can edit any caption line before export.
Do captions require internet?
Only once, to download the model you pick: about 140 MB for Fast, 510 MB for Balanced or 1.1 GB for Accurate. After that, captioning works offline.
Can I export an SRT or VTT file?
Not from the editor, which burns captions into the video. The onerec command-line tool can write SRT and VTT files from the transcript.
